Vaughan announce their second annual Made in the Shade campaign, a partnership with Watts of Love. Vaughan and Watts of Love, a global solar lighting non-profit bringing people the power to raise themselves out of the darkness of poverty, have come together to engage the international design community in both North America and the United Kingdom, while bringing light and love to those in need.
Thirty designers from the United Kingdom and North America have been chosen to design an eye-catching Vaughan lampshade for their favourite Vaughan lamp for their local showroom, which will be on display through the month of October in London at Vaughan Chelsea Harbour, Vaughan D&D New York, and throughout the US and Canada at Vaughan showroom representatives.
For every social media post that uses the activation's hashtags #vaughanXwattsoflove and #madeintheshade, Vaughan will donate $1 to Watts of Love.
Vaughan has also partnered with Christie's for a global online auction powered by Charitybuzz for the 30 beautifully designed shades with Vaughan lamps. All proceeds directly to benefit Watts of Love.
The auction will run from October 1st - 21st

"Despite what this year has presented us with, we are delighted to still be going ahead with our Made in the Shade campaign. Now more so than ever, we are able to see the strength in coming together for a greater cause - while fully acknowledging our privilege in being able to do so. Collaborating with a host of brilliant designers, both here in the UK and in the US - as well as with Watts of Love - we hope to provide as much solar lighting as we can to those living without electricity," says Vaughan co-founder, Lucy Vaughan.
"Watts of Love and Vaughan partner to change the lives of families in ultra-poverty through solar lighting. Families need Watts of Love lights more than ever as they are forced to stay at home amid the pandemic, sitting in darkness, with toxic fumes of kerosene or paraffin bringing dim light. I'm so excited to see these designers using their talents to advocate for women, children, and families around the world. The Made in the Shade campaign is the perfect way to spread the light and love for our mission," says Founder of Watts of Love, Nancy Economou.
