Vaughan is delighted to support QEST and is donating a hand painted lampshade by decorative artist Natasha Mann to the Auction taking place on 19th March. The design is based on Vaughan's embroidered Jarogo linen and coordinating Chitral embroidered linen border, painted on to one of Vaughan's signature pembroke lampshades in a pale cream card. The lampshade was painted using a selection of different green earths mixed with egg tempera.
QEST, the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, was founded in 1990 by the Royal Warrant Holders Association to mark the 90th birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. The Charity transforms the careers of talented and aspiring craftspeople by funding their training and education, sustaining vital skills in traditional and contemporary crafts. Over the last 33 years, QEST has awarded some £5.5 million to over 800 individual craftspeople working in a broad range of skills: from silversmiths, to ceramicists, glass workers, thatchers, bookbinders, stonemasons, furniture-makers and many more.
