Vaughan were delighted to sponsor award winning garden designer, Robert Barker, at Chelsea Flower Show 2018 and show their outdoor lighting within his garden scheme called 'Skin Deep'.

Robert is a modernist garden designer whose design process is about bringing together his passion for plants, people, nature, sculpture, his love for modern architecture and his understanding of how a design can work in harmony with its environment to create a timeless landscape.

Awarded a Silver Gilt medal for Skin Deep, Robert incorporated individual concrete blocks in contemporary sculptural relief to represent people and skin conditions, each one representing a different condition that could affect any one of us over a lifetime. "Individually we may feel weakened by our appearance, but when we see that collectively we are not alone, we can be strong like concrete."

Plants and trees such as acers, grasses, ferns and foxgloves were chosen for their form and texture combining height and colour to the garden creating a harmonious scheme together with subtly placed Vaughan outdoor lights.
